Jean Sim graduated from the prestigious New York University with MA in Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages. She has stayed in the US and Canada for more than 13 years. She is a member of American Translators Association (www.atanet.org). She was a top English student throughout her whole schooling with excellent grammar and pronounciation skill.
At the Immigration and Refuge Board Canada, she passed the written English grammar and translation test including a simultaneous translation test (English to Korean, Korean to English) through audio facility and has been trained with observation of hearings to become a site translator. At this government body including the Immigration and Citizenship Canada, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, she has performed site interpretation and translation of video conference for hearings and appeals of deportation and refugee claims including ones for correctional service with medium security, Immigration and Citizenship Canada; provided translation for hearings and interviews of deportation and entry to Canada in the Canada's largest Pearson Airport. I provide translation service to the government Toronto Community Housing. I interpreted for the Seoul Olympics after passing the English test and receiving training of English lessons. She's currently in charge of expert review with a translation company.
She worked for the top English publisher, Si-sa-young-o-sa, in Korea after passing TOEIC with the top grade in the whole company. The staff includes people with degrees of Ivy league school with MA and a Top Korean college with a major of English literature. The job for a popular monthly magazine English World was involved with translating movie scripts and articles of US major magazines and interviewing English speaking celebrities including writing a regular Korean column for a monthly English study magazine English World. She translated American women’s magazines Red Book, Shape, Good Housekeeping, famous movie scripts, pop songs and wrote a script to make the tape of English study for a top college instructor and a famous instructor at an EBS (Education broadcasting company) English conversation study program in a studio. She interviewed an American movie Phenomenon director in a press conference. Her monthly column of cultural difference between Korea and America was the most popular article. (She spotted even a customer looking for the section as soon as he purchased the magazine. Everyone at the company read it first also)
